Technical review for the decision in front of you
We work on solar PV, battery storage and hybrid systems with generators, from a single factory roof to utility scale. Each engagement has a fixed scope, a fixed fee and a delivery date, agreed before we start.
For lenders, funds and arrangers
Pre-commitment technical review
A fixed-fee technical check on a single loan, where a full independent engineer is out of proportion to the deal, or a fast, independent first read of a larger project before credit approval.
Request a reviewWhat we check
- PPA, design, yield report and financial model against each other
- Sizing against the borrower's real load, and the savings the repayment depends on
- P50 and P90 basis, data source and uncertainty budget
- Battery fade and augmentation against the debt tenor
- O&M budget, mid-life inverter replacement and reserves
- Grid connection status, export limits and curtailment
- Land or lease term against the loan and PPA term
Scope, clearly stated
- Every report lists what was reviewed, at which revision, and what was not
- Where a formal independent engineer's report with reliance is required, we work alongside the appointed firm as its local associate
You receive a findings register ranked critical, major and minor, and a one-page summary written for a credit paper.
For businesses buying solar
Quote and design review
You have one or more EPC proposals. We tell you whether the system fits your load and your process, whether the price is fair, and what to change in the contract before you sign.
Free: 12 questions to ask before you sign a solar quote
Get a quote reviewedWhat we check
- Sizing against 12 months of interval load data, not the monthly bill
- Yield, losses and derating at your site temperature
- Inverter capacity against your largest motor starts and generator steps
- Battery energy at the meter, cycles, fade and warranty terms
- Protection, earthing and power quality with variable-speed drives
- Price against landed equipment cost and duties
Contract terms we look for
- A performance guarantee that is measurable and has a remedy
- Warranties that run from commissioning, not shipment
- A locked bill of materials: no substitution without approval
- Acceptance tests at site conditions before final payment
You receive a review memo with a clear recommendation: sign, renegotiate (with the clauses to change), or re-tender.
For developers and owners
Owner's-side technical support
From design basis to handover, we write down what you are buying and check that the contractor delivers it.
Discuss your projectWhat we deliver
- Design basis: sizing, dispatch and the assumptions behind them
- Employer's requirements for FIDIC Yellow and Silver Book contracts
- Technical bid evaluation and clarification rounds
- Guarantees on performance ratio, availability and battery round-trip efficiency, including cooling loads
- Liquidated damages sized to the shortfall they cover
Through construction
- Design submittal review
- Factory and site acceptance test procedures
- Commissioning and capacity test witness
- Registered engineers engaged where formal sign-off is required
You receive contract-ready technical schedules and a test regime that proves the plant meets them.

Questions clients ask
Before you get in touch
Getting startedWhat do you need from us to start?
For a project review: the PPA or offtake terms, the design and single-line diagram, the yield report with its native simulation files, the financial model, the EPC and supply contracts, and land documents. Send whatever exists; we tell you what is missing.
For a quote review: your last 12 months of electricity bills or meter data, generator fuel records if you run one, and the proposals you have received.
ConfidentialityDo you sign NDAs?
Yes. We sign your NDA before you send any documents. Project and client names never appear in our marketing without written permission.
Due diligenceHow does technical due diligence improve a solar project?
It finds contradictions between the PPA, the design, the yield report and the financial model before money is committed, when they are cheapest to fix. Typical findings: installed capacity below the contract, an optimistic P90, missing CapEx such as storage, and gaps in warranties or land terms.
LendersCan you act as lender's technical adviser?
Where your process requires a formal independent engineer's report with reliance, we work alongside the appointed firm as its local associate. For smaller loans, our fixed-fee technical check gives your credit team what it needs at a cost in proportion to the deal. We also act as local associate to an appointed independent engineer.
OwnersDo you provide owner's engineering in Nairobi?
We support owners with design review, specifications, employer's requirements and acceptance tests. Where a project needs certification or formal sign-off, we work with registered engineers.
ScopeWhich technologies and countries do you cover?
Solar PV, battery storage and hybrid systems with generators. We are based in Nairobi and work across Africa: document reviews are done remotely, and site visits are arranged per project. We review technical documents in English and French.
FeesHow are fees set?
A fixed fee for an agreed scope, quoted after a short call and a look at the document list. The standard reviews above cover most requests.
